KEWAUNEE, Wis. (NBC 26) -- On a small Kewaunee farm, one family is responsible for more than just a few cows.

"My wife lost a bet basically," Mitch Tulachka said. "So we moved back to Wisconsin. 'What are you gonna do?' We're gonna build monster trucks and enjoy our life."

It's been 15 years since the Tulachka family started their monster truck business in Northeast Wisconsin. Back in 2006, the they fell in love with the enormous vehicles while visiting a show in Las Vegas.

"[We] moved to Vegas and hung out there for a couple years, lived there and went to a monster truck show -- the world finals," Mitch said.

Shortly after the show, Mitch's family decided to move back to Kewaunee and build two big trucks of their own. Now, they travel the world performing for crowds in Canada, all the way down to South America.

"I completely thought he was crazy," Kathy Tulachka said about her husband Mitch's idea. "And then I realized the more I told him 'you can't do this, this isn't gonna work,' the more he tried."

For years, Mitch was the sole driver. But in the last year, the father of four handed the keys over to his 19-year-old daughter. 'Mighty' Mikayla Tulachka is a healthcare worker by day, and a monster truck driver by night.

For the past few years, 21-year-old son Brandan Tulachka has manned the family's second 'Just Get Er Done' truck.

"Usually, [people] don't believe me when I tell them I'm racing," the family's only daughter said. "They usually ask what I actually do. So I just tell them I'm a nurse to follow my mom."

Now Mikayla works to inspire kids and young women who aren't much younger.

"I kind of think it's crazy myself, so it's easy to tell them it's crazy to be in there," Mikayla said.

"I'm very thankful to be so young and driving like this, because I pretty much look up to all the older people because they've been in this industry so long," Brandan said.

Like father like son, Brandan is set to drive for his hometown crowd at the Kewaunee County Fair this Friday.

"It's crazy, but you can dream as big as you want," Brandan said. "And eventually it will catch up to you and you're in the dream."
