MADISON (NBC 26) — Flags in Wisconsin will fly half-staff Wednesday to honor a firefighter who died from COVID-19 complications.
Gov. Tony Evers has signed Executive Order No. 154 ordering the flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff in honor of firefighter Robert “Bob” A. Stevens of the Fremont-Wolf River Fire Department.
Stevens died on Jan. 27, at the age of 66, due to complications from contracting COVID-19 in the line of duty, according to a statement from Gov. Evers.
Services for Stevens will be held on Wed., Feb. 2, in Fremont. Executive Order No. 154 will be in effect from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday.
