GREEN BAY (WGBA) -- The Bay Area Workforce Develpment Board expect many people (especially part time workers) to apply for unemployment benefits while COVID-19 spreads.

"It is mostly a lot of people who never thought they would have to apply for unemployment,” said Jim Golembeski, the Executive Director.

The COVID-19 spread forced many businesses to shutdown causing many to without a job. The board says people should at least appy for unemployment benefits.

"Fill out the application, it does take a while but it is not that hard," Golembeski said. "It can be an un-expected time, and also for some it can be embarrassing."

The process involves two main steps. The first is doing the application. The second is requesting money each week once approved
