MARINETTE CO. (NBC 26) — If you're looking to drive around and see the beautiful fall colors in Wisconsin, while staying socially distant, look no further than Marinette County.
Marinette Co. Development and Tourism Director Jennifer Short said they are offering a free 'Fall Colors Driving Tour' through the county until November 1 this year. Short recommended visiting between now and the second week of October for peak colors.
Because Marinette Co. is known as the waterfall capital of the state, Short said stops along the drive include four waterfalls as well as two scenic overlooks. These stops were chosen based on the best viewing opportunities and ease of access.
Short said this driving tour can be enjoyed in a socially distant manner. She said there are places to hike, all the parks have picnic tables, and there are fall themed photo booths along the way.
