GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Some Green Bay students are saying farewell to a long-serving staff member.
Thursday saw an emotional send-off for Ellen Pelkin, who worked at Eisenhower Elementary School for more than two decades as a monitor and was a volunteer 10 years before that.
“It's been such a joy for me to work here and retiring is actually hard…But I hope to come back and be able to help out any way I can, and I love it! My heart will always be here,” said Pelkin.
During her retirement, Pelkin says she looks forward to enjoying more time with her family at home.
