GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Packers fans likely know that all the concession stands at Lambeau Field are staffed by local non-profits in and around Green Bay. But this season, Delaware North says they're seeing a shortage of organizations who are able to participate.

Andrea Elliot, a non-profit recruiter for Delaware North, says many non-profit's memberships have been depleted by the pandemic.

"It's been difficult for the groups that we've had in years past," Elliot said. "They've just either disbanded or they don't have the volunteer base that they used to have. So we do have a need to back-fill the amount that we've had in years past and continue to work until we have a full staff."

That's why Delaware North has taken several steps to make volunteering easier and more lucrative for organizations to participate this year.

"There are no restrictions on whether they want to do one game or they want to do the entire season, we are cashless this season, and we are also implementing tipping via credit cards if everything goes well," Elliot said.

A wide range of non-profit organizations are eligible to participate and anyone fourteen or older can volunteer.

"We have everything from Boy Scout troops, to sports teams, to churches, any type of community organization that is deemed a non-profit and wants to raise funds," Elliot said.

One of the local non-profit organizations that regularly volunteers is Fighting Cancer with Grace. It's run by teenager Grace Fuss, who earns money to create care packages for cancer patients. Grace has been volunteering ever since she turned fourteen.

Volunteers with Fighting Cancer with Grace say running the concession stands is not only an opportunity to connect with the community but also a great way to earn money for any non-profit. Volunteer Mary Katers estimates they make about $6,000 per game not including tips.

"Put your feet at the edge and jump in," Katers said. "It's a great experience, it's a lot of fun. For a little bit of work each Sunday, it's great money for your organizations."
