De Pere man arrested after leading Wrightstown Police on pursuit with speeds over 100 MPH

WRIGHTSTOWN (NBC 26_ — A 23-year-old De Pere man has been arrested after leading police on a high speed chase in Wrightstown on Saturday early morning.

According to the Wrightstown Police, around 2:20 a.m. on September 4, they observed a vehicle pull into the Greenleaf Bank parking lot and park there for several minutes. The vehicle pulled out of the parking lot and ran a stop sign.

The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and, as the officer was approaching the vehicle, the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle then fled down County Highway U at speeds over 100 MPH and left the Village limits entering a construction zone. The vehicle turned onto CTH S (Freedom Road) approaching several squad cars with emergency lights activated

The driver, a De Pere man was booked into Brown County Jail and has been charged with Eluding an Officer, OWI (3rd Offense) and numerous traffic violations.

Wrightstown Police Department was assisted by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Hobart/Lawrence Police Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
