ASHWAUBENON (NBC 26) — It has been more than 24 hours later following the horrific shooting at the Oneida Casino complex where three are dead including the shooter and one more in critical condition.
For Tom and Kathy Falcinelli, the couple are from Silver Spring, Maryland and were visiting Green Bay for the first time when this shooting happened.
“I heard 13 seconds of gunfire sounds like the wild Wild West,” said Tom Falcinelli.
Tom was outside the Radisson hotel waiting for his wife Kathy to come downstairs when chaos broke out.
“I just hit record and it’s scary when you listen to it like I said the Wild Wild West and I knew what was happening,” Tom said.
Kathy found herself in the middle of it all, she was on the elevator going downstairs when her husband notified her about the shooting.
“I go down, he’s texting and then he says something about shooter. I’m like I don’t know what this means exactly. So I call him, as the elevator doors are opening he goes there’s an active shooter on the scene don’t leave the room. I’m like I’m on the lobby He says get out of there. I close the elevators doors and I go up to my room,” Kathy said.
She said people were all over the place doing everything they could to get out.
“ I could just see people, running through. People were pushing other people out the door. There was just yelling ‘you gotta get out of here now, you gotta get out of here now’. I went back to my room in the third floor which happens to have a window that overlooks the lobby so I could see the people in the restaurant that worked there, they are all running out. The workers, everybody,” Kathy said.
Kathy eventually came down using one of the stairwells, she was able to safely get out and be reunited with her husband.
While they were expecting to enjoy a night out on the town, they found themselves in the middle of this chaos.
