BROWN COUNTY (NBC 26) -- The Brown County Health Department said they’ve found a correlation of increased cases to specific locations, adding operations at these places are not accessible to the public.
As of Friday afternoon, the department announced an increase of 36 cases from Thursday, bringing the county’s total to 181. Oneida Nation’s cases remain the same at 5.
During Friday’s media briefing, Ted Shove with the county health department released this statement:
"We acknowledge the recent increase of cases in our community through contact investigation and tracing, public health has identified a correlation of cluster of confirmed cases and specific locations where their operations are not accessible to the public within Brown County. Due to our ongoing investigation we can not release any further detail information at this time.
I can tell you we are anticipating additional resources to be deployed to assist Brown County Public Health with this specific investigation. We are working closely with our local, state and federal partners, as well as our health care systems, to address situation and ensure the safety of our community. We strongly encourage public to continue practice social distancing, frequent hand washing and sanitizing high touched surfaces within their homes."
The department said additional information will be released Monday.
