RIPON (NBC 26) — UPDATE AS OF 7:42 a.m. - Ripon city leaders held a press conference to assess the damage from Wednesday night's storms.
In total they said about 9,000 people lost power, and fire crews responded to 2 fires. One of the fires was caused by a generator being used placed to closely to the house.

After Wednesday night's storms, Ripon Police are asking people to stay indoors.
On their Facebook page they said, "The City of Ripon is requesting all residents stay inside due to the storm damage that occurred city-wide."
The post adds power is out city-wide and anyone in need of assistance is asked to call 911. They said many roads are closed and power lines are down as well.
