City of De Pere employee involved in fatal accident while on the job

DE PERE, Wis. — The city of De Pere said a city employee has passed away as a result of injuries suffered while on the job today.

The name of the individual is not being released right now to ensure all family members are properly notified first.

City Administrator Larry Delo said the accident involved a bucket truck on the city's East side shortly before 8:00 a.m. De Pere Police and Fire Rescue responded to the scene, and the individual was transported to a local hospital, but passed away. The city said it appreciates the profound efforts of all City staff, Police and Fire EMS responding to the scene.

According to the city, life saving measures, including CPR, were attempted.

“At this time of unspeakable sadness, our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to the family, as well as friends and co-workers at the City,” Mayor James Boyd said.

An industrial accident investigation is being conducted by De Pere Police. The City of De Pere is actively assisting with the investigation.
