NEENAH, Wis. — Labor Day 2019 was a day to celebrate work by doing none of it.
At the Fox Valley Area Labor Day celebration, hundreds of workers from all kinds of industries came together.
"Recognizing the contributions that workers make to our community every day, day in and day out," Fox Valley Area Labor Council President Mark Westphal said.
Westphal says the workers of this community keep the Fox Valley and the country going.
"We're the workers, we're the ones that make the products, we're the truck drivers who move the products around the country, we're preparing the food, making the food," he said. "If it wouldn't be for workers, none of this would happen."
The festival is a way of thanking those efforts from the workers of today and years past.
"I think it's just wonderful that people recognize the people that do the work," retired machinist Bernie Faust said.
