GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- COVID-19 is causing temporary changes to the Brown County Sheriff's Office's routine.

The Sheriff's Office announced Monday that all jail inmate visiting is canceled, except for attorney and professional visits.

Services such as fingerprinting, drug take-backs, citizen ride-alongs, and public facility tours are also canceled.

The Sheriff's Office is also changing how it responds to certain calls. Officers will not respond to normal rescue calls unless life-saving measures are necessary or EMS requests officers.

Reported crimes such as minor damage complaints, fraud or ID theft will be taken by phone.

These new restrictions are expected to last through April 5th.
