GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — The Brown County Health Department launched a new web site feature that will help business, schools, events and the general public understand the status of COVID-19 cases in the county.
The COVID-19 Dashboard has all different kinds of data visualized: total confirmed cases, total negative cases, daily hospitalizations, positive cases by age and gender, burden rate and average positivity rate. It will be updated every day at 2 p.m.
“This dashboard is a tool for everyone," said Anna Destree, Public Health Officer for Brown County. "To use it to make the best possible decisions for themselves and their families, and to provide insight for business and community leaders to make decisions for their organization and workforce.”
The Health Department is also taking further steps to stop the spread of COVID-19 in businesses like restaurants and bars. If a business's employees or patrons test positive, the Health Department will instruct the business on sanitary practices, mask wearing and social distancing protocols. If the business doesn't listen, then the Health Department will publicly identify it, potentially issue citations up to $500 and even shut it down temporarily.
“If they continue to ignore those recommendations and further pose a risk to public health, that’s when we would step in with possible enforcement action," said Destree.
