OSHKOSH (NBC 26) -- The Wisconsin Herd held a special basketball game featuring members of the Oshkosh Police and Fire Departments Saturday afternoon.

The event was called Boots vs Badges.

Police officers dressed up in blue jerseys while firefighters dressed up in red. Both are raising money for local charities in the Oshkosh area.

On top of that, the Herd says the goal of the event is to create a bond between local first responders and the community of Oshkosh.

"Pretty cool experience for them to get out there, but also to raise money for local charities," says Jessie Smith, the Wisconsin Herd's Senior Account Executive. "Boots team is raising money for the local dive team and the Badges are raising money for the K9 unit here in Oshkosh as well."

More than $1,200 was raised.

It was also fun for many, like the guy who nailed a half-court shot during halftime.

This is the 2nd year the Herd has hosted this event.
