GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — A body found in an area near the UW-Green Bay campus has now been identified.
Green Bay Police announced Monday that the victim has been identified as Jason Mendez-Ramos, a 36-year-old resident from Ashwaubenon.
His body was found on September 28. Police have said his death is being investigated as a homicide.
Police said the department has been in contact with the Mendez-Ramos family and will continue to work with them through this investigation
Police are still looking for the victim’s vehicle and have entered it missing in the NCIC national database. It is described as a red, 2010 Ford Fusion with Wisconsin registration of AMJ-2523.
"Although the location of this incident is near the University of Wisconsin Green Bay campus, no information has been learned that this has any connection to the College," police said in a statement Monday.
