A body found along the Lake Winnebago shoreline Sunday showed, "no sign of injury or trauma," according to an autopsy, authorities said Monday.
The body of a 57-year-old Fond du Lac man was found along the Lake Winnebago shoreline in the Town of Friendship Sunday afternoon, according to a news release from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office.
A person reported finding the body in the water; the scene was along the N7000 block of Lakeshore Drive.
"We do not believe there is any threat to the public and foul play is not suspected at this time," a statement from the Sheriff's Office said.
Detectives are notifying the next of kin and continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the person's death, the Sheriff's Office said Monday.
The case remains open and active.
