OSHKOSH (WGBA) -- It has been a rough year for DeVito, but hopefully soon he will have a new home. The pit-bull mix was found nine weeks ago in Milwaukee eating roadkill.
"A good Samaritan brought him in and then he was transferred here," said Joni Geiger, the executive director of the shelter.
DeVito had a showcase Saturday where many people came out to meet him. He is blind and needed a few surgeries. He is now in good health and waiting for someone to adopt him.
"He is an 80 pound lap dog," Geiger said laughing. "He has been friendly to everyone he has met."
Despite him being blind, Geiger said he would fit in any home. He is trained in basic commands and is very gentile.
"We hope someone here can take him home," Geiger said.
