APPLETON, Wis. (NBC 26) — Friday, the Avenue of Ice returned to downtown Appleton with 15 one-of-a-kind ice sculptures making their debut on the sidewalks of College Avenue. The sculptures will be installed for viewing at noon and will stay up as long as weather permits.

“Our community has loved seeing the art of ice carvings in past years and we are excited to bring that to them again,” shares Lynn Hardy, marketing director for Appleton Downtown Inc. “There is something special about bundling up to walk the sidewalks each year to enjoy the creativity behind the ice creations. Plus, there are always a few interactive ice sculptures that are perfect for a quick photo opp.”

According to Hardy, along the ice sculptures route there are many shops, restaurants, and bars that are offering great ways to keep you warm this winter. From cozy hoodies and handmade mittens to bath bombs and hot chocolate, even locally brewed winter beer.

"While you are downtown enjoying the beauty of ice, be sure to warm the hearts of the small business owners by supporting them with their unique winter warm up options!” said Hardy.
