APPLETON (NBC 26) -- The Appleton International Airport is now in some exclusive company.

It's now one of three airports in the world to have its own hydroponic farming system. The others are O'Hare and Dubai.

It means a farm at the airport will be able to produce and grow fresh food for travelers.

"It's really hard to eat well when you're traveling. We have a lot of business travelers here that live on the road,” said marketing manager Patrick Tracey. “So, we think it's a great opportunity to provide them with fresh greens to maintain a healthy lifestyle."

Tracey expects the first harvest to be ready in just a couple of weeks.
