ASHWAUBENON (NBC 26) — An Ashwaubenon senior is the 1,000th scholarship recipient of the Brian LaViolette Foundation.
The scholarship was started almost thirty years ago as a promise to do great things after Brian died at just 15 years old.
"I think it's a huge milestone, but I think there could be so many more and we can touch a lot of lives because it's not just the recipient that we acknowledge - it's their family, friends, their peers,” said Doug LaViolette, Brian's dad.
The goal of the scholarship was originally one per year.
