ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (NBC26) -- Ashwaubenon schools plan to have in-person class for students beginning on Dec. 1 for two weeks. Students will physically meet in the classroom once each week.
Superintendent Kurt Weyers believes it's the best option for the district and acknowledges the rising coronavirus cases within Wisconsin.
"From me, from our staff, from our principals -- everyone included in the Ashwaubenon School District and our board -- we want in person [learning]," Weyers said. "We think it's better. It's better for kids -- we all agree with that. But right now, it's trying to wrestle that decision based on what's on the safety of our kids."
The district projects students to attend class twice a week in late December. But leaders say plans could change before then.
