GREEN BAY, Wis. (NBC 26) -- Over 200 artists have taken to the streets of downtown Green Bay to show off their work around the city.

It’s an event that’s been going in Northeast Wisconsin for the past 40 years. From painters to photographers, Art Street has brought in people from all over the country.

Throughout the weekend, artists will be demonstrating and exhibiting their original work, which includes a wide-range of pieces from glass designs to woodwork.

Much of the art is available for festival-goers to purchase. Attendees say it’s a nice change of pace after a year in a pandemic.

The festival also includes live music and theater performances on stage. Area restaurants are showcasing and serving specialty foods from around the region.

Admission for the weekend-long event is free with a suggested donation.

On Friday night at 8 p.m., a live painting competition called Art Wars is set to take place at the Tarlton Theater downtown. At the end of the night, the audience gets to pick the winner.
