LEDGEVIEW (NBC 26) — The East River Trail in the town of Ledgeview is getting a little prettier this weekend.
The feeder trail was closed today so local artist, Lynn Peters could begin work on Ledgeview’s first trail paintings.
The four large paintings are designed to inspire a sense of whimsy and appreciation of nature.
"This is not only the first trail painting, but also the first public art project for Ledgeview, so we're really excited and I know they hope it'll be the start of something bigger, and more development, and there's been some talk about maybe other communities will adopt this idea as well," said artist Lynn Peters.
The project is expected to be ready for viewing when the trail reopens on Monday afternoon.
