OUTAGAMIE COUNTY (NBC 26) — A woman being transported by the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office died after getting out of a moving vehicle, the sheriff's office said Tuesday.
According to the sheriff's office, shortly after 5:30 p.m. Monday, deputies from the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office were transporting a 43-year-old Appleton woman.
On STH 441 southbound near Racine St. in the Town of Fox Crossing, the sheriff's office said the woman got out of the vehicle while it was moving. The woman had significant injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she later died.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. The two Outagamie County Sheriff Deputies involved are on administrative leave pending the conclusion of the investigation, the Outagamie Sheriff's Office said.
