APPLETON (NBC 26) — Appleton Police said Tuesday officers are investigating an apparent case of false imprisonment.

Police said officers got a call at around 4:08 a.m. Monday for a female that was being held against her will, and had been physically assaulted, at an address in the 1200 block of West Lorain Street.

According to Appleton Police, officers entered the home and found a man and a female inside. As a result of the investigation, police said Curtis E. Meyer, 43, has been taken into custody for false imprisonment and battery charges.

Police said the female was transported to an area hospital to receive medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing, police said. Investigators are still working to determine the nature of the relationship between the involved parties.
