Appleton Police found man shot after responding to large fight

Police say the man's injuries aren't believed to be life-threatening

APPLETON (NBC 26) — The Appleton Police Department says it's investigating a shooting incident that took place in the 1300 Block of W. College Avenue overnight.

Police said at approximately 2:17 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a disturbance in the 1300 block of W. College Avenue.

Initial reports stated that about 20 people were fighting outside. While officers were responding, additional callers reported hearing gunshots in the area.

Officers found a 28-year-old Appleton man who had been shot. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Police said the injuries he sustained as a result of the incident are not believed to be life-threatening.
