APPLETON (NBC 26) — Appleton Police said Monday that a 61-year-old Appleton man is under arrest for attempted homicide charges.
Police said it follows a Sunday afternoon disturbance.
At around 2:21 p.m. Sunday, police said officers went to the 1100 block of West College Avenue for a report of a physical fight involving a weapon. Upon arrival, officers found a 54-year-old Appleton man with a significant injury to his neck. Police said the injury was consistent with the use of an edged weapon.
An officer helped stabilize the man's condition until an ambulance arrived and took the man to a hospital.
The suspect in this incident was identified as 61-year-old Michael W. Miller of Appleton. Police said officers found him a short distance from the scene.
Miller was arrested and taken to Outagamie County Jail for attempted first-degree intentional homicide. Police said information indicates Miller and the other man knew each other prior to this incident.
