MANITOWOC COUNTY (NBC 26) — An Appleton man is facing charges for online child sex crimes, the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office said Friday.

In mid-August, the sheriff's office said one of its detectives identified 30-year-old Grant Stamper from Appleton through an online personal ad. The sheriff's office said Stamper was seeking a sexual relationship through a social media app.

According to the sheriff's office, Stamper traveled to Manitowoc County to meet a 15-year-old girl for sex, but the "girl" was actually a fake profile created by law enforcement.

Stamper was ultimately taken into custody for child enticement and use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime.

This investigation is ongoing and the investigator is attempting to determine if there are additional victims that may have been involved with Stamper.

Those with information related to this investigation can call Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office Detective Brandon Radke at 920-683-4217. Additionally, anyone can call Manitowoc County Crime Stoppers at 920-683-4466 or utilize the P3 app and remain anonymous.
