APPLETON, Wis — An Appleton flight bound for Detroit, MI makes an emergency landing in Milwaukee Thursday afternoon.
The Skywest Airlines flight 4037, took off around 1:30 from Appleton International Airport.
The flight crew was alerted to a mechanical issue and was forced to make an emergency landing at General Mitchell International Airport.
We spoke with Justin Giles from SkyWest Airlines who issued this statement:
"SkyWest flight 4037, operating as a Delta Connection from Appleton, Wisconsin to Detroit, diverted to Milwaukee due to a mechanical indication. The flight landed safely without incident and all passengers deplaned normally at the gate. We are working to help passengers resume their travels to Detroit as quickly as possible."
Giles says there were 76 passengers aboard the flight.
So far no word on when those passengers will be redirected to Detroit.
