APPLETON (NBC 26) — Appleton International Airport is announcing a flight change to accommodate Packers fans.
The airport announced Thursday that its Allegiant direct flight to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport will change to Jacksonville International Airport to align with the change in the Packers vs. Saints game location on September 12.
The game location was changed due to damage New Orleans sustained from Hurricane Ida.
“As a leading Wisconsin airport, we understand that Packers fans are a huge part of our traveler base and we are grateful for airlines like Allegiant who not only accommodate them but create special flights so fans can cheer on their favorite team,” said Appleton Airport director Abe Weber.
Fans who were scheduled on the flight received notice of the change from Allegiant. The airport said in a statement that those who wish to travel on the rescheduled flight do not need to take any action and their itineraries will automatically update. Those who do not wish to travel on the rescheduled flight have the option to decline and receive a full-credit voucher or refund.
The special flight between Appleton Airport and Jacksonville Airport is scheduled to depart on Sept. 10, 2021, and return on Sept. 13, 2021. Learn more by clicking here.
