KEWAUNEE COUNTY (NBC 26) — A Luxemburg man already accused of child abuse is now facing more charges. Additionally, another person has been arrested in the case.
Alan T. Finch appeared before a judge Thursday after being arrested earlier in the week on a child abuse charge. Circuit Court Judge Keith Mehn ruled that Finch be held on a $250,000 cash bond for charges of physical abuse of a child, repeated acts intentionally causing great bodily harm, chronic neglect of a child, and causing mental harm to a child.
Also on Thursday, another person connected to Finch, Dawn M. Jimenez, was arrested on charges of physical abuse of a child, repeated acts intentionally causing great bodily harm, chronic neglect of a child, and causing mental harm to a child. Jimenez is being held at the Kewaunee County Jail where she awaits a bail hearing.
This case began on Tuesday when Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department got a call from a medical facility in Green Bay regarding a 7-year-old girl who had been brought in for treatment and reportedly had wounds that were "consistent with physical abuse."
According to a criminal complaint, a doctor at the facility told an investigator that this was a very unusual case and in his 25-year career, he had never seen anything like this, nor anything this serious.
The doctor also said if the child survived, she would more than likely not be any type of functioning adult, according to the criminal complaint.
The child had been flown to Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee for continued treatment.
The Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department said Thursday there are no updates regarding the condition of the victim.
