GREENVILLE (NBC 26) -- Starting today, online retail giant Amazon will start making more deliveries in Northeast Wisconsin.
The facility started operations out of its new 110,000 square foot distribution center. The warehouse is located in the Greenville business park and will employ up to 160 full time jobs.
Greenville administrator, Joel Gregozeski, says Amazon's name recognition is already generating more business interest to the area.
“We have been seeing an uptick in interest from other suppliers to provide other types of warehouse facilities in the area within our industrial park,” said Gregozeski. “So that's going to bring more jobs and more tax revenue, so we are appreciative of that as well."
Gregozeski says the Greenville location was chosen for its proximity to the Appleton airport, and access to the Fox Valley, to help ensure faster deliveries to the area. At the same time, local police in Fox Crossing and Appleton want residents to be aware they'll be seeing more drivers in the area.
