MANITOWOC (NBC 26) -- ALDI in Manitowoc on Harbor Town Lane reopened their doors after being apart of a $1.9 billion remodeling project.

Friday morning the Manitowoc ALDI store held a ceremony as they reopened their doors to the public. The store handed out gift cards and giveaway entries to the first who showed up.

With more than 1,900 stores in the United States, ALDI is investing nearly $18 million to update 10 stores in the Green Bay, Appleton, and the surrounding areas by the end of 2020.

“The updated ALDI store layout has even more to offer shoppers. Stores are easier to navigate and have more space for the products people love the most,” said Atty McGrath, Oak Creek division vice president for ALDI. “We can’t wait to show our customers in Manitowoc their newly remodeled store, and continue providing the affordable, high-quality foods we know they love at ALDI.”

In addition to the store renovations, ALDI is looking to add 25,000 new jobs in stores, warehouses, and offices across the country by the end of 2022.
