LOS ANGELES (NBC 26) — Actor Val Kilmer has died.
The movie star is best known for his roles films like Top Gun, Batman Forever and Tombstone.
According to the Associated Press, Kilmer died Tuesday night surrounded by friends and family in Los Angeles.
In the last decade, Kilmer had battled throat cancer which ultimately affected his voice.
