GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — On Saturday, car enthusiasts are invited to attend the 4th Annual Automobile Gallery Cars & Guitar Show.
Taking place on the 400 block of S. Washington Street from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the event has all sorts of activities for everyone to enjoy.
Hosted by the Automobile Gallery & Event Center, organizers say they are expecting nearly 300 cars for this show.
They say they are allowing any make, model or year vehicle to be part of this event.
It is free to attend the car show and if someone would like to register their car it is only $10 and that also includes two meals. It is $15 if you register the day of the show.
The Automobile Gallery is also open that day for only $5.00 per person, which is half off their regular rates.
This year Johnny Wad will be performing starting at 10 a.m., with a student group being their warm up band starting at 9:30 a.m.
New this year, they are also giving back. Organizers say they are accepting food donations to both Paul’s Pantry and NEW Community Shelter.
They also say they will have a new and improved Kid’s Zone area with face painting, lawn games, photo opportunities, hula hoops as well as wooden cars
the children can paint and take home with them.
For one man who came to display four of his vehicles he shares why he participates in events like this.
“Ever since I was a kid I’ve been attached to cars. But 55 Fords, these are 55 Fords here, that was my first loves so I’m just kind of partial to that. Plus my wife wanted the pink and white so we had to get the pink and white one here,” Jim Young, Green Bay.
Young who is a volunteer with the Automobile Gallery says it was actually his idea four years ago to get this event started. He says its been a blessing seeing his idea come alive.
