ASHWAUBENON, Wis. — Students in Ashwaubenon with special needs got a chance to showcase their skills on Friday.
The 3rd Annual Jaguar Quad is a triathlon and kickball event at Ashwaubenon High School, where special needs kids are paired with their peer mentor to have some fun. The event showcases compassion, teamwork and acceptance. Organizers say students look forward to this event all year long.
"It's an opportunity to do an event with different friends that help you though different classes that you might be having trouble," says Rylan Pigeon, an 8th grade athlete.
"This is their chance to shine,” says Quad Co-Director Kerry Janquart. “We've got Friday night football, we've got basketball games, we've got everything else. This is everybody's chance to shine."
The Jaguar Quad was a full day of events: swimming, biking, running and kickball. After the event, each athlete was awarded a metal and prizes from Dick's Sporting Goods.
