OCONTO (NBC 26) — An 18-year-old driver died after crashing into a straight tanker truck, authorities said Friday.
According to the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, authorities responded to reports of a crash at around 2:10 p.m. Friday, on Hwy 41 south of Frog Pond Road in Oconto.
The Sheriff's Office said a passenger car operated by an 18-year-old woman from Marinette was traveling south on US 41 south of Frog Pond Road when she struck the rear bumper of a straight tanker truck operated by a 55-year-old Oconto Falls man.
The 18-year-old driver was killed in the crash. The operator of the tanker truck was not injured. Their names were not released.
The Sheriff's Office said the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the crash.
