When it comes to Christmas shopping, the choice is never easy. Give a kid the entire Shopko store, and the choices become seemingly endless.
This holiday season, more than 170 children in Northeast Wisconsin got the chance to shop for their families with members of local law enforcement during the annual "Shop With a Cop" event at area Shopko stores.
"This is what Christmas is all about," said Michelle Hansen, the Shopko Foundation manager of public relations.
It's a great day for the children.
"It's actually kind of cool to meet a cop," said one.
And for the cops, it's pretty cool, too.
"It's fun to get out there and interact with the kids and see the joy on their faces this time of year when it's important the most," explained Officer Chris Sands.
Children also got a free breakfast as part of the event.
