A judge has dismissed a lawsuit against Brown County over the half-percent sales tax that started January 1st.
The Brown County Taxpayers Alliance filed the suit and claimed the county violated the portion of state law that dictates how counties can spend sales tax revenue. The County is using it for nine projects.
In the decision, the judge ruled the Alliance failed to notify the County of their intent to sue within the required 120 day time period, but the judge's ruling doesn't put the issue to rest. The Alliance has until March 7th to give the county written notice of their intent to sue.
