RICHLAND COUNTY, Wis.- Hunters all over Wisconsin are reacting to a video of two teens torturing a pregnant doe in what's being called a severe case of animal cruelty.
"It's disgusting," said Bob Schmechel of Oconto Falls.
Two teens in Richland County in Southwestern Wisconsin are being investigated by the Department of Natural Resources for possibly violating deer hunting rules.
"I think they should be prosecuted just like anybody else you know when they do animal cruelty there's just no reasons for it," said owner of Sportsmen's XChange, Brett Schmechel.
The video shows the two walking up to the pregnant doe, then one proceeds to ride her like horse while she struggles to get away. Later when they realize she's pregnant they caption the Snap Chat video, "Found out the deer I shot yesterday was actually two of em lol."
"It's just cruelty you know you're out there to be a sportsman and you shoot to kill, it's not a game," said Schmechel.
NBC26 reached out to the DNR who couldn't comment on camera because it's an open investigation, but they tell us in a statement quote:
"Our Law Enforcement team was made aware of this yesterday, and they are addressing this at the statewide level,"
Hunters however have their own ideas saying the suspects should be punished.
"Pull their license and they shouldn't be allowed to hunt," said Schmechel.
A possibility these two teens could be facing pending the DNR's investigation.
