The Green Bay Police Department along with the Green Bay Area Public School District held a forum on Saturday to discuss school safety.

The forum was held at Preble High School. People discussed different safety concerns they have and also learned more about safety procedures.

The police department also got input from community members on ways to improve safety.

The police department's proposal to add an armed and trained security officer at each school in the district was also discussed.

"I’ve gotten emails from the around the state for people saying they like to be considered. I have detectives in our department now who are saying, if they retire a year early, this would be a perfect job,” said Andrew Smith, Green Bay Police Chief.

Another forum will be held on April 16th at 6 P.M. at West High School.
