Friday marked World Heart Day. It's a time to raise awareness of the leading cause of death for Green Bay residents.
Mayor Jim Schmitt and Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy lead community members on a 30 minute walk to draw attention to heart disease and stroke and promote ways to prevent it.
"The number one health concern is heart disease and strokes, and you look at the number of people that affects and the solution isn't medication, it's exercise," said Mayor Schmitt.
Health experts also suggest eating a low fat diet, monitoring your cholesterol and blood pressure, and reducing stress.
