GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- In Green Bay, in-person voting was underway Tuesday and multiple safety precautions are in place to help ensure voter's safety at the polls.
On Green Bay's west side, the lines, or lack thereof, at polls were a pleasant surprise for many voters during the day.
The city of Green Bay has a total of 16 different polling sites Tuesday with nearly 700 poll workers making this process run smoothly and with just over half of all registered voters voting absentee this election in town. The lines to cast a ballot was as organized and fast as many voters have ever experienced.
"It was not what I expected. There weren't as many people as I thought there was going to be. I thought there was going to be a really long wait and long process, but it wasn't," said Kailyn Oyer.
"So, it was fairly quick and easy I was in and out within probably five minutes, it's actually the quickest one I’ve ever done," said Michael Boughton
The chief inspector at one polling site verified that most voters, even those that have to register Tuesday, only spent about ten minutes inside.
