OUTAGAMIE COUNTY (NBC 26) -- Even as we talk about a possible recount, it's important to know the results in Wisconsin aren't official yet.
Thursday is the start of canvassing, the next phase of the election process. Basically, counties are verifying the vote.
"The purpose of the county canvass is to ascertain that our unofficial returns are correct or need correcting so that we can certify the candidates and their vote counts,” said Outagamie County Clerk Lori O'Bright.
Outagamie County started canvassing Election Day returns Thursday and will reconvene next week to canvass provisional ballots.
