WISCONSIN — Wisconsin has set a new record Tuesday, marking the most daily COVID-19 deaths reported since the beginning of the pandemic in March.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services announced the record number of deaths Tuesday, saying an additional 120 people have died from the virus.
DHS usually shares their daily numbers around 2 p.m., but Tuesday, they shared the death total around noon, bringing the total deaths across the state to 4,545.
Before Tuesday, the record number of daily deaths was 107. Now, it's 13 more than that.
The new record number of deaths also raised the seven-day average to 60. That is 9 more than it was Monday, and one less than the highest 7-day average since the pandemic began.
Also on Tuesday, the department of health reported 2,403 new cases of COVID-19. The seven-day average, however, has lowered to 2,659, the lowest it has been since Oct. 17.
