Wisconsin reports over 1,400 new COVID-19 cases, 33 deaths

WISCONSIN (NBC 26) — Health officials said 1,493 out of 6,363 COVID-19 tests returned positive Saturday afternoon, adding to the estimated 19,581 active cases across the state.

According to the DHS, the seven-day average for positive cases by person rose to 19.5% as of Friday's numbers. This percentage only includes each person once across the duration of the pandemic, no matter how many times an individual gets tested.

Approximately 515,745 people in Wisconsin have been marked as recovered from the virus.

Another 33 deaths related to COVID-19 were recorded Saturday. A total of 5,893 people in the state to have died in relation to the virus.

Hospitalizations increased by 89, bringing the state total to 24,243 people to ever be hospitalized with the virus.
