Wisconsin reports 5,096 new COVID-19 cases, 62 deaths

Wisconsin health officials reported 5,095 out of 12,748 COVID-19 tests returned positive Thursday afternoon.

The state Department of Health Services (DHS) said 62 new deaths were recorded, bringing the total to 3,240 people who have died in relation to the virus.

Health officials estimate about 75,233 cases are still active across Wisconsin. Almost 291,000 people in the state have since recovered from the virus.

Hospitalizations increased by 201 for a total of 16,658 people who have been hospitalized with coronavirus.
