Wisconsin health officials reported 4,831 new cases of COVID-19 and 77 deaths related to the virus Saturday afternoon.

On Friday, the state crossed over 400,000 total coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic. The total now sits at 409,386 positive cases.

According to the state Department of Health Services (DHS), the seven-day average for positive cases by person just started a downward trend to 31.3% as of Friday's numbers. This percentage only includes each person once across the duration of the pandemic, no matter how many times an individual gets tested.

Health officials said approximately 84% of people in Wisconsin who tested positive for COVID-19 have since recovered from the virus. An estimated 62,128 cases remain active across the state.

The DHS said the 77 new deaths reported Saturday brings the state total to 3,702 people to have died in relation to the virus.

Hospitalizations increased by 183 for a total of 18,126 people in Wisconsin to ever hospitalized with the virus.
