Wisconsin reports 1,408 new cases of COVID-19

MADISON (NBC 26) -- Wisconsin reported 1,408 new cases of coronavirus Wednesday.

The rate of COVID-19 tests returning a positive result in the state ticked up only slightly from 11% Tuesday to 11.5% Wednesday. This comes after two days of record-high percentages.

The seven-day average of newly reported COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin continues to trend upward.

There are now 92,712 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Wisconsin, with 87% of those cases listed as recovered. There are currently 10,839 active cases in the state.

Eight more deaths were reported Wednesday, bringing the state's coronavirus death toll to 1,228.
